Merry Christmas

Ahhhh, its that time of year when everyones getting ready for the holidays. Its a nice feeling, right? Its that one time of year where people stop being cheap and spend a few extra bucks on their loved ones. The snow will begin to fall and stores are playing Christmas songs to the point of massive annoyance. That random guy with his random bell will be freezing his butt off outside of K-mart. Those were the good old days. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss yet another American Christmas. No egg nog for me this year. Feel bad for me? You shouldnt. While you all celebrate the holidays, I will be exploring the depths of West Africa. I decided to take a trip this year to a country called Ghana. Ill also be hanging out in two other countries as well, The Ivory Coast and Togo. The cool part is that I leave in a week.

Im going to Ghana with three of my good friends: Becca, Arun and Shane. The itinerary consists of mountain climbing, waterfall and cave explorations, hiking, hanging out on the beach, etc...We'll get a chance to hang out with the locals to kick back and relax for two weeks. Im starting to get very anxious. The part of the trip Im looking forward to most is a place called Ryan's Irish Pub. I cannot wait to drink myself stupid with all the Irish beer. It feels good to tap into a bit of your family heritage every once in a while. Especially when green beer is on tap.

I leave Senegal on December 12th and return the 26th. Its only a two week vacation, but Ive needed this break for about a year now. Hopefully Ill come back fresh and ready to work for a few months. When you think about it, I dont have much more time left here in this country. I figured that I might as well see more of Africa while Im here. I never know when Ill get the chance to ever do it again. Merry Christmas everyone. See you all soon.
